Farm to Families

A new initiative funded by the Appalachian Foodshed Project which helps connect our area's low-income families to local produce. This 2015 summer we are offering Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares at an affordable rate to Shack families and families regularly attending the local food pantries (St. Ursula's, Scott's Run Settlement House, and Arnettsville).  CSA shares are provided by Mountain Harvest Farm, a small Monongalia county farm. We love supporting our local farms AND eating their yummy produce!

Details

What is a CSA?
Community Shared Agriculture is when consumers purchase shares of a farm's harvest ahead of time and in return receive regular (every other week) boxes of seasonal produce throughout the farming season.
Cost?
Costs will be prorated according to income from $240 (full price) to $60 (pantry price) and covers the entire season.
What do I get?
The freshest of produce delivered to the Shack from June to October for pick-up! And the satisfaction of supporting your local farms.
Who is eligible?
You must be either involved in one our programs or referred by one of our partnering pantries. Partnering food pantries are: Arnettsville, Scott's Run Settlement House and St. Ursula's.
How do I apply?
Stop by the Shack for a quick one page application.
Deadline:
The sooner the better. Shares will be reserved on a first come first serve basis.
Click here to support farms and families. Thank you!
